Rankin Family returning to Swift Current in January during Stars For Saskatchewan series

An intimate acoustic tour featuring The Rankin Family will be stopping in Swift Current for a pair of dates in January.

The Rankin Family will be on the Sky Centre stage on January 18 and 19 as part of their Rankin Family Acoustic Tour – Up Close and Personal. Swift Current is one of just two Saskatchewan stops during a tour which takes The Rankins to 13 communities for 14 concerts across Western Canada between Jan. 15 and 29.

Siblings Raylene, Jimmy, Cookie and Heather will bring a bit of their famous down-home kitchen party atmosphere to the stage while reworking time-honoured hits which include “Fare Thee Well Love”, “Rise Again” and “North Country”. They are touring in support of their most recent CD “These Are The Moments”.

The Acoustic Tour is described as an opportunity to experience the sheer, raw talent of the group that has captivated fans worldwide.

Opening the show will be Rankin Family member Jimmy Rankin, who has enjoyed a successful solo recording and touring career.  Named Roots Artists of the Year at this year’s Canadian Country Music Awards, Jimmy released his latest album “Forget About The World” this past March.

Since beginning his solo career in 2001 he has released four albums and has claimed a Juno for Best Country Artist, along with a SOCAN Award for Single of the Year (“Followed Her Around”).
